Petition to stay the deportation of Onsy and Fadia Zachary

URGENT ACTION REQUIRED

We, the undersigned ask that Onsy and Fadia's deportation order be stayed and allow Onsy to be free during that time. This will allow for time for Onsy's attorney to overturn the unjust conviction and allow Onsy the opportunity to be vindicated. This will also allow Onsy and his wife to pursue options to legally stay in the US where they can hopefully rebuild a life, establish a business as they had previously, and fully become part of the community that has already embraced them.

National Center for Reason and Justice

"We believe that the accusation against Mr. Zachary was manufactured by a relative whose main objective was to get Mr. Zachary deported. Mr. Zachary, unfortunately, was convicted and is scheduled for release from prison in September. Upon release, Mr. Zachary and his wife will be deported to Egypt where they face imprisonment and torture. (They are Coptic Christians who are on record of having applied to the United States for religious asylum.)" -- Robert B. Chatelle Executive Director, National Center for Reason and Justice

Orthodox Christians for Life

"Through a convoluted and tragic series of events initiated by the ruthless and malignant actions of Mr. Zachary's own brother, Onsy was charged with and convicted of a crime that he did not commit ... . I call upon the Honorable George W. Bush, President of the United States to intervene in this matter and by Executive order, right the injustice perpetrated against Mr. Zachary and his wife. Because they are refugees from radical Islam, both face terrible persecution and possible death at the hands of anti-Christian fanatics if they are forcibly deported to Egypt." --Rev. Deacon John Protopapas National Director, Orthodox Christians for Life

Onsy, 1999. Happy, generous, loving husband, father and friend

Prayer of an innocent man

1 Vindicate me, O LORD, for I have walked in my integrity,

And I have trusted in the LORD without wavering.

2 Examine me, O LORD, and try me;

Test my mind and my heart.

3 For Your lovingkindness is before my eyes,

And I have walked in Your truth.

4 I do not sit with deceitful men,

Nor will I go with pretenders.

5 I hate the assembly of evildoers,

And I will not sit with the wicked.

6 I shall wash my hands in innocence,

And I will go about Your altar, O LORD,

7 That I may proclaim with the voice of thanksgiving

And declare all Your wonders.

8 O LORD, I love the habitation of Your house

And the place where Your glory dwells.

9 Do not take my soul away along with sinners,

Nor my life with men of bloodshed,

10 In whose hands is a wicked scheme,

And whose right hand is full of bribes.

11 But as for me, I shall walk in my integrity;

Redeem me, and be gracious to me.

12 My foot stands on a level place;

In the congregations I shall bless the LORD.
