Stop Deportation to Torture in Egypt - Save Onsy Zachary

Onsy Zachary, a 62 year old Egyptian man who is a Christian Coptic Orthodox, escaped from Egypt in 1970. While serving in the Egyptian military he was imprisoned and tortured for refusing to convert his faith to Islam. He is now facing deportation from the USA along with his wife Fadia in September 2007. They will be sent back to Egypt where they will be imprisoned and tortured for filing for religious asylum with the US, and for Onsy being unjustly convicted of a crime he did not commit.

Sameh Released!

We are very happy to report that Judge Vanaski issued his ruling in Sameh's case on January 10, 2008 and has ruled that the United States Government cannot deport Sameh to Egypt because he will certainly be tortured if deported. He also ordered that Sameh must be released from detention where he has been held by ICE since 1998, he was briefly released in 2006 and detained again on May, 2007.

We are even happier to report that Sameh was finally released from prison on January 15, 2008 and he reunited with his mother Georgette. Sameh is still not completely out of danger however, and even though the judge did not order this, he is forced to wear an ankle bracelet and restricted not to leave the State of PA. Please continue to pray for Sameh, and pray that he and his mother can heal from this and be able to live a normal life and be left alone in peace by the United States Government.
